KATHRINE IVERSEN - Van Gogh Art Gallery

Kathrine Iversen (1992) lives in Aarhus, Denmark. She has been painting her entire life, gone to art school and she is an educated art teacher.

She works abstract and expressive with acrylic paint, egg tempera, watercolors and liquid ink.

In her art she departs from the mysterious universe of thoughts and memories, where thoughts intertwine one another and express themselves in different moods and atmospheres. She is inspired by the unsaid in the human relation - What lies behind the words, the gaze, the way we look at each other, and what happens in the meeting.

She loves to create stories and emotions in her painting, where the viewer can reflect themselves.

Kathrine Iversen often paints her paintings outside on the grass at her work atelier in Ebeltoft. The rush from the sea, the colors and the nature are her inspiration.

Kathrine Iversen works spontaneously with a playful, dynamic and intuitive approach. Faces, figures and outlines emerges in the paintings. Kathrine Iversen wants to engage the viewers and help initiate thoughts and feelings. The viewer can go on an exploration the paintings, where they will find faces and figures, that are intertwined, up against each other or closely related with each other. In some of the paintings the figures direct their attentions to one another, and in others they turn towards the viewer. The paintings represent a fragile insecurity, as well as those feelings that are difficult to understand and put into words.
