Pilar Pedraza is a spanish painter, based in Madrid and graduated in Modern and Contemporary History. Dedicated to teaching in the first part of her professional life, she abandons teaching and decides to dedicate herself fully to painting, attending and organizing different courses and workshops of painting, drawing, design and creativity. She has more than 20 years experience working in her own studio.
Pilar participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions, both inside and outside of Spain.She has previous collaborations with authors in the illustration of different covers for their books and she was also finalist, with a lot of mentions in various painting competitions. In the last two years she has participated in International Contemporary Art Fairs in Austria, Luxembourg, Marbella, Paris and Germany.
In March 2020, she was invited to participate in a special project, to prepare a collective book on creative thinking: CriAtivaMente, The Creative Mind. CreA(c)tivaMente. MINDSHAKE.2020.
Pilar´s work is minimalist and , on occasions, unrealistic figuration.Using colors, she is creating imaginary spaces that always refer to Nature. In her latest collections she expresses a special care for the environment and planet conservation.
