SUKRILI – Susanne Lilja

With over a decade of experience as an artist, I have cultivated a deep passion for creativity and expression that I am eager to keep sharing with the world. 

Having worked with prestigious organisations such as Wallenstam, SKF, Svenska Mässan Gothia Towers and Astra Zenica in Sweden, as well as exhibiting internationally in China, Spain, and Italy, I have had the privilege of sharing my art with diverse audiences around the world. My portfolio spans a wide range of sizes, from small-scale, detailed pieces to ambitious projects such as a previous installation spanning 12 square meters. 

Based in Sweden, I am proud to have acquired a substantial international following though these exhibitions and collaborations. My artistic journey has been shaped by a dedication to pursuing the boundaries of creativity, particularly though the use of metallic materials. 

My artworks range from abstract creations where imagination knows no bounds, to intricate and realistic pieces such as portraits and architectural renderings. By leveraging techniques that play with light and perspective, I strive to infuse each piece with a sense of life and energy.

Growing up with dyslexia, I faced challenges and naysayers who doubted my ability to ever succeed. However, I have maintained, and today I stand as a proof to the power of resilience and determination. Through my art, I aspire to inspire others and give hope for generations to come.

My work conveys the narrative of a moment that becomes encapsulated beneath the surface. The memory of the gesture struggles within the dark medium, narrating the prolonged and rich experience of daily life and the visceral energy of existence. The layer of color attempts to obscure the scars but, in fact, reveals imperfections, bringing to light the imprint of a fleeting existence illuminated by light.
